SAMIC is assigned by the Department of Agriculture to audit quality indication (QI) marks on their behalf. The two outstanding characteristics of QI marks are the uniqueness of it against the norm, and that it is always traceable. Therefore SAMIC is auditing QI marks at farms, abattoirs, feedlots, deboning plants, and outlets.
